C & D from Miami Beat an A from Michigan, Ohio U or Carnegie Mellon

March 2016

With Miami’s James Lewis Family Mock Trial “A” and “B” teams already qualified to move ahead after their regional competition win, it was now time for our “C” and “D” teams to take the stage. But, because competition rules will only allow two teams from each school to advance, this weekend’s competition was for the experience for our students and love & honor for Miami.

And honor Miami, they did. Miami's C "developmental" team tied for first with a 7-1 record dispatching Michigan, Ohio University, and Mercyhurst, while splitting their two ballots with Ohio State A. Miami's D "first year" team tied for third with a 6-2 record, dispatching Ohio University, Duquesne, while splitting with Carnegie Mellon.

Miami's C team is coached by Miami alumnus Alex Block while the first year team is coached by business legal studies faculty member Kate Bowling.
